Inspiration to get started!

Choice and voice is not a one-size fits all instructional strategy.  It takes different forms at different grade levels and based on different learning objectives.  It may be as simple as using discussion as a formative assessment to determine students' understanding and tailor instruction, or as complex as a project where students demonstrate their understanding of content in independent and personalized ways.  Review the videos on this page and reflect on your own classroom practice.  Develop your action plan.  How will you incorporate student choice and voice into your classroom?
